AMAZED in 2012 and more to come in 2013

A thought occurred to me while reading a friend's facebook post.

A new year is almost upon us. We all have goals, dreams and hopes. Most desire better health, pay off debt, pay for children college (helping), car repairs, a vacation and even someone to spend their life with.

I'm starting to gather more pictures and ideas for my new 2013 vision board. I plan on placing it next to my current one and looking back at my 2012 board I'm AMAZED at what has taken place:
  1. More people on our team than last year (100) - this year (600) more!!!!  - I'm sad for those who missed the opportunity to join this year, but I know they will come around when ready. 
  2. I think of how many lives I have touched personally and how many those lives touched and so on down the chain.
  3. I count my blessings of how my body has restored wellness in many ways. FAT fell off and keeps falling off. Sugar levels maintained. Exercise in abundance. Better sleep. Less stress. Hormones under control. Discomfort diminished. Sadness gone. The list goes on.
  4. Wellness to my daughter who for 8 years has struggled with food allergies and sensitivities.
  5. Wellness to my other daughter who suffers from a chronic breathing issue and more.
  6. Wellness to my last daughter who suffers from attention, focus issues and sadness.
  7. Wellness to my son who has struggled with functioning issues.
  8. Most of all, I am amazed at the blessing I have been able to be to others and for the person who blessed me with this amazing nutritional solution.
When we open our eyes and hearts to the possibility of what basic good solid nutrition can do for our bodies we see the body do miracles. The true amazing miracle is the body. How it can repair and heal itself.

So next time you discount that this is some gimmick, trick or trying to swindle money from you, think about this. We all buy groceries from stores that are peddling nutritious food as well as food that can destroy your body. Which one will you chose for 2013 and the coming years?

Be amazed and try something different - you just may be amazed yourself.

Toxic Life - Life Restored

Life can be so toxic. Food, water, air, vaccinations, even people.

When you have 2 auto-immune issues and serious inflammation in your body you lose hope. Sadness, discomfort in the body, and losing hope day by day can sure where you down. Some take their lives. Trauma can impact your stress level in which turns the disease into 5x to 125x worse.

Baking: Paleo Chocolate Chip Coconut Gift in a Jar

I LOVE Baking. I have been a huge baker for such a long time!

When we were challenged to eat better due to food allergies and sensitivities I searched for answers on what we could enjoy as a family. I pass on our joy for the new love we have found in healthier foods onto friends and family.

Around the holidays it is a little harder to find healthy gifts so I made a few and giving them to my children's teachers. I baked them and sent them for a party and they were a hit - so they are baking their own this year... :o)

Here is a great way to create this gift for others:
This is a 22oz jar. Add in the following order, almond flour, sea salt, baking soda mix, pack down, add a layer of chocolate chips and then layer with coconut and then chocolate chips again.

Paleo Peanut Buttter PB2 Cookie Recipe

So I have been experimenting with different cookie options and have converted a few into delicious options. For this new lifestyle of ours without compromising too much for calories.

The season for many is about good eats, fun treats, family and friends. I miss baking with my aunt and decorating cookies were always my favorite! We would do an all day baking stint, eat and of course eat more, but at the end of the day it was about quality time and the love of baking we shared.
We even did a short stint of cake decorating and I still do it from time to time. My Aunt is so darn creative and I thank my family for all the creativity I inherited!

This is a really good recipe I converted!!! I hope you open your mind to other options for Santa...hint hint!!!

My family has lost over 110lbs in less than 5 months. We are so excited. I decided to cut up our old jeans and make stockings to see our blessing hung up all season. Some motivation to stay on track.

We all pitched in a pair of jeans that did not fit us. 
I went to work and put the creative idea in motion.

 
I used an old stocking for the pattern.
 
Then cut it out and pinned it right side together
 
Sewed them together.....

Decorating Tiz the Season!

We all have our own "flare" in decorating for Christmas.

This year I am celebrating the amazing weight loss, greater health and wellness.

Finally almost done. Last sewing our stockings tomorrow - they are 1 pair of my old jeans, size huge, and the others from Dan's jeans, size not so huge, and the last one to make all the stockings are from Amanda - in which she was a 12 and now an 8!!!

I'll post a pic as soon as I'm done sewing them and hang them on the fireplace!


Thanks to my 5 year old, my husband and I were the ones who did it. Dan Jr did most of the work singing, dancing, and such while eating all our Paleo Chocolate Chip cookies!!!

Diabetes, often referred to by doctors as diabetes mellitus, describes a group of metabolic diseases in which the person has high blood glucose (blood sugar), either because insulin production is inadequate, or because the body's cells do not respond properly to insulin, or both. Patients with high blood sugar will typically experience polyuria (frequent urination), they will become increasingly thirsty (polydipsia) and hungry (polyphagia).

There are three types of diabetes:

1) Type 1 Diabetes

The body does not produce insulin. Some people may refer to this type as insulin-dependent diabetes, juvenile diabetes, or early-onset diabetes. People usually develop type 1 diabetes before their 40th year, often in early adulthood or teenage years.

Type 1 diabetes is nowhere near as common as type 2 diabetes. Approximately 10% of all diabetes cases are type 1.

Patients with type 1 diabetes will need to take insulin injections for the rest of their life. They must also ensure proper blood-glucose levels by carrying out regular blood tests and following a special diet.

Between 2001 and 2009, the prevalence of type 1 diabetes among the under 20s in the USA rose 23%, according to SEARCH for Diabetes in Youth data issued by the CDC (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention).

2) Type 2 Diabetes

The body does not produce enough insulin for proper function, or the cells in the body do not react to insulin (insulin resistance).

Approximately 90% of all cases of diabetes worldwide are of this type.

Some people may be able to control their type 2 diabetes symptoms by losing weight, following a healthy diet, doing plenty of exercise, and monitoring their blood glucose levels. However, type 2 diabetes is typically a progressive disease - it gradually gets worse - and the patient will probably end up have to take insulin, usually in tablet form.

Overweight and obese people have a much higher risk of developing type 2 diabetes compared to those with a healthy body weight. People with a lot of visceral fat, also known as central obesity, belly fat, or abdominal obesity, are especially at risk. Being overweight/obese causes the body to release chemicals that can destabilize the body's cardiovascular and metabolic systems.

The risk of developing type 2 diabetes is also greater as we get older. Experts are not completely sure why, but say that as we age we tend to put on weight and become less physically active. Those with a close relative who had/had type 2 diabetes, people of Middle Eastern, African, or South Asian descent also have a higher risk of developing the disease.

I'll also add that restricting caloric intake to 500-800 calories also restricts minerals, trace minerals, proteins, and other essential nutrients, creating nutritional deficiencies.

There have been reports of individuals experiencing hair loss, saggy skin, lethargy, mental fog while on HCG.

2. Stick to low-mercury fish like American-farmed tilapia instead of swordfish or tuna. Overexposure can cause memory problems, fatigue, and other health issues, and besides, most wild fish stocks are threatened these days. (Looking for an alternative? 3. Reduce the amount of canned food you consume. Cans are commonly lined with bisphenol-A, an organic compound that, according to the Lang study, may be associated with diabetes and heart disease.

4. Cut back on meat and dairy products. These animal products may contain trace amounts of harmful contaminants like polybrominated diphenyl ethers, polychlorinated biphenyl and dioxins. Although many of these toxins have been banned, they are still present in the soil. Reducing your intake of animal products is also more friendly to the environment.

5. Skip the diet soda and artificial sweeteners . Prolonged exposure to aspartame, a neurotoxic chemical additive in these products, can lead to nerve cell damage, dizziness, and headaches. Besides, anything that gives rats brain tumors is worth avoiding in my book.

6. Choose the farmed fish carefully. Studies show that farm-raised fish contain more polychlorinated biphenyl and over ten times the amount of dioxin.

7. Opt for organic chicken. The Institute for Agriculture and Trade Policy discovered traces of arsenic in non-organic chickens . Exposure to this dangerous chemical can lead to cancer, diabetes and heart disease. Another study also found numerous antibiotic-resistant bacteria in conventional poultry .

8. Only drink milk that says “no rBGH” on the carton because recombinant bovine growth hormone has been linked with breast cancer. Better yet, opt for responsibly-produced, unsweetened soy, nut or rice milk.

9. Avoid manufactured snacks. Hydrogenated oils are used to lengthen the shelf life of products like crackers and cookies, but they are also associated with diabetes and heart disease. Another reason to stay away from the middle aisles: snack foods are generally loaded with salt, corn syrup and other unhealthy ingredients.

10. Stay away from artificially-colored foods like candy, maraschino cherries, and gelatin. Mice and rats exposed to blue 1 and 2, red 3 and yellow 6 suffered from brain, adrenal gland, thyroid, and kidney tumors.

11. Always buy organic produce. This one’s a no-brainer, but the list wouldn’t be complete without it. Lingering pesticides can lead to nervous and reproductive system damage, not to mention cancer.

12. Use stainless steel or cast iron cookware to prepare your meals. The Teflon used to create nonstick surfaces can release noxious gases when exposed to high temperatures, which puts you at risk for heart disease.

13. Never microwave food in plastic bowls, containers, or dishes. Exposure to heat causes the bisphenol-A found in plastics to break down and potentially contaminate your food. Also, make sure to hand wash them

Awesome Breakfast!

I just made a Vanilla, Fresh Ginger, Cinnamon and Spice Protein Shake....yummy!

I added 8oz water and 1 thumb size fresh ginger, and blended it - ginger water - then added IsaLean Vanilla IsaLean 1-1/2 scoop, IsaPro 1 scoop, 1 tsp cinnamon, 1 dash of all spice and 1 dash of nutmeg! Garnished of course yummy!

Ginger is so good to burn the fat and all the other health bennies of spices.

Superwoman - who was she really?

So last night I was so NOT Superwoman! I thought I would be strong enough to resist "Halloween candy" goes to show you how weak we all are - even me!

I did not have a cape to fly away for the night to say, London, and have a quick getaway during the day and return after all the madness of kids, candy, food, and I did not have any magic powers to defend the GMO smell of the rich chocolate, caramel, etc....yeah right.

I did eat 3 pieces and it made me so ill. So much for being Superwoman!
